ABOUT KRISHNA

Considered as one of the greatest and mischievous avatars of Lord Vishnu, Krishna was born to Devaki and Vasudev in a prison where they were kept in by DevakiтАЩs brother Kansa. His birth was for the end of the evil doings by his uncle and starting of the new era by his love to the people. His history is known to many but what is not known is the reason behind his doings. The reasons can be many and may be still unknown.

About KrishnaтАЩs Background

Yayati, son of Ashoksundari and king Nahusha, is the ancestor of Yadavs and Pandavas. Yayati married Devayani (daughter of the priest of Asuras, Shukracharya) but had his relation with her maid Sharmistha (daughter of king Vrishparva). When Devayani gets to know this, she immediately complains about the affair to her father, Shukracharya who in turn curses Yayati for old age in the prime of his young age. Yayati could be cured only if one of the sons of his, exchange his youth with him. All refused to do so except Puru (the ancestor of Kauravsand Pandavas). For doing this, Puru was blessed that his generation will be the ruling kings and cursed Yadu, (ancestor of Yadav Kingdom) that his generation will never have a stable kingdom and will not be the ruling one.

KrishnaтАЩs comparison with Ram

Ram in thretha yug, obeyed his fatherтАЩs order without even questioning him and thus was granted the full kingdom with peace and harmony after 14 years of living in the forest. This is not the same in the dauprad yug, where obeying the fatherтАЩs order by Puru did not resulted in the great kingdom ship by the younger generation of his. They werenтАЩt good to each other and peace and harmony didnтАЩt have the guts to reach their doorstep for years. So here, yugs are different, characters are different, orders are different, and of course resultants of obeying the orders are different.

Where Ram was considered as maryada purushuttam, Krishna was considered as the chitt-chor. Ram was obedient always but Krishna was always mischievous. Ram only loved one woman in his lifetime, never looked up on any other woman, Krishna on the other hand married 16,100 women and regarded them as his queens. Krishna did this not because he was careless but because  he cared about this duty. He was aware of the desires of woman who wanted him as their husband in thretha yug when he was Ram; he fulfilled their desires in dauprad yug when he was Krishna.

KrishnaтАЩs relation with his beloved ones

Krishna with his pure heart always loved the people who loved him. His acts and doings were beyond the understandings of normal people. He wasnтАЩt the same with his 16,100 queens as he was with his beloved Radha. Radha is considered to be YasodhaтАЩs relative and is believed that she is older than Krishna. He broke all the norms by loving her and made us believed that true love has no boundations, no age limit, and no color differentiation. He never married his beloved and never returned to Vrindavan when he went to Mathura. He understood that with his ending teenager age he has more important works to do. For his future duties he even accepted to be away from the one he loved the most. Thus, in every phase of his age he performed his duties either by good or evil means for his тАШDharma.тАЩ

With Arjun his relation was that of the best friend. Krishna regarded him as тАШParth.тАЩ In the battle of Mahabharata, he showed Arjun his sacred form, his real form, his divine and ultimate form, where he shows he is only the creator of universe; he has no ends and starting point. He has many faces and is present everywhere. He at that point didnтАЩt want to show his ultimatum to Arjun, but to free him from the worldly love when he was becoming weak seeing his relatives against him. By coming in front of him in his actual form he wanted to tell him that he (Arjun) is selected by the universe to fulfill his duties either by hook or crook. Thus, for making Arjun realize his duties he (Krishna) gets into his original form and preaches Arjun the truth of life which is regarded as тАШGita.тАЩ

With Draupadi his relation was of a friend. A friend who cared when she was saddened by worldly disappointments especially from her father Drupad. A friend who helped her when she was being unclothed by the Kauravas. Draupadi is none other than, Goddess Lakshmi herself. Lakshmi has been the shadow of Lord Vishnu in every of his incarnations, as Tulsi, as Sita, as Draupadi and as Rukmani. She is considered to have taken two incarnations in the same yug as did by Vishnu in the thretha yug where he was Ram and Pursoram. In dauprad yug Goddess Lakshmi was Rukmani and Draupadi too where she was his wife and best friend too.

TodayтАЩs Mathura

Mathura, also known as the brij bhoomi, is considered as the land of Lord Krishna. There are many temples here which show the significance of  the holy Hindu deity.

Some of the important places here are тАШKrishna Janmasthan Temple Complex,тАЩ which has тАШBhagavata BhawanтАЩ and тАШRangbhoomi,тАЩ where the battle between Lord Krishna and Asur Kansa took place. The тАШDwarkadheesh TempleтАЩ and тАШVishram Ghat,тАЩ are also places of importance and people can visit here too.

тАШVrindavan,тАЩis regarded as the twin city of Mathura. Visitors can have a close look of тАШNidhivan,тАЩ where Lord Krishna along with his million gopis performed тАШMaharaas.тАЩ

тАШJanmashtami,тАЩa festival which witnesses devotional songs, dances, prayers, performances every year, is also celebrated in Mathura and Vrindavan. Thus, to experience the true bhakti phase of Hinduism, one should visit this place and experience the spiritual energy and positivity that resides here.

Thank you.
