Nothing belongs to us except our time
Convict after deserving his imprisonment returns back home, there is no surety if he truly changed or turned more dangerous, there are chances his fear for Prison is no more & he can be more wild then earlier. Same way after deserving Hell there is no surety about a Jiva been purified completely after reincarnation.
Hell & Heaven are not the place to change the person or purify their thoughts but a place to deserve Punishment or Enjoyment. Punishment & Enjoyment would bind more Karmas & to deserve those karmas the Jiva would return back in a new body to perform more karmas & there is no end towards this cycle.
There are few ways to end karams also however these are to be performed by those who accepts Karmakand lifestyle for eg.
If someone had Liquor once in their life span there is one Praischit/Penance to get rid of such a sin, i.e - Drink Boiling Ghee & die. The person who drinks Alcohol often. They are been drunk molten Iron forcefully by the Yamduttas as per Garud Puran.
If someone has done robbery, there is a Praischit/Penance for such a sin, Confess to the person from whom your robbed, return his money back & also donate that much amount of Gold to some temple or Brahmana.
Person who disrespect the words of Guru should Burn & Die
Such karma kands would only end those few karmas but not the karmas performed by us in present & previous lives. Such things are impossible in the present age & so the divine Vedic scriptures comes with solutions for Kaliyuga.
So those who are into karma Kand or Yog marg & if they commit such a sin their penance is mentioned in our scriptures but those who follow the Bhakti path need not do such difficult penance, any sin committed by a devotee who wears a kanthi & a tilak, they are directly been judge by Bhagwan Vishnu & his parshad, Yamduta wont even bother to pile a book of karmas of such devotees because he is been warned not to touch those who wears a tulsi kanti & a tilak.
Harinam Sankirtan is one way to wipe out all sins & we need to be cautious that the sins are not been repeated, if a person even after knowing commits a sin/paap it is considered as Aparadh. There are ways to forgive a sinner but to forgive the person who commits apradha is not easy & many birth the person has to take to build bhakti to get rid of such Apradh however they would still get liberated faster then those who does praschit according to karma kand & yog marg.
