The last Maurya king was not a powerful ruler. Pushyamitra, the Army Chief, killed him and himself became the king. Agnimitra was the son of Pushyamitra and ruled Vidisha. He had two wives-Dharani and Iravati. The former was the senior queen. Agnimitra handed over the administration of Antpalgarh to Virsen, a distant cousin of Dharani.
