Kargil Vijay Diwas is a national holiday in India that is celebrated on July 26 every year to commemorate the victory of the Indian Armed Forces over Pakistan in the Kargil War of 1999. The war was fought in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir, and lasted for 60 days.
