Tomato prices skyrocketing

Tomato seller Deepak says that in Delhi wholesale we are getting tomatoes at Rs 60-80 per kg. People will get it for Rs 90-100 in retail. The rates have increased in the last 10-15 days due to rain.Government data says that the price of tomato has been recorded at Rs 122 per kg in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh and Bellary in Karnataka.

Both buyer and seller upset

Same is the condition in Lucknow. There too, the prices of vegetables have increased due to continuous rains. The biggest jump has been seen in the prices of tomatoes. A vegetable seller says on the sudden increase in prices that tomatoes have reached Rs 100 per kg.Those who need 1 kg are taking 250 grams. Tomatoes have become costlier since last 4-5 days. This is affecting people's pockets a lot. It may take some time for the price to come down.

What can be done?
