April Fool Special: Punjabi movie characters from ‘Carry On Jatta’ and its sequel who were tricked to create the best situational comedies

01/5 / April Fool Special: Punjabi movie characters from ‘Carry On Jatta’ and its sequel who were tricked to create the best situational comedies Happy April Fool’s Day! Now while the world celebrates April 1 as the official day of pranks, practical jokes, and tricks, the Punjabi movie industry for years has been showing the art of tricing someone and creating situational comedy with its every other film. The plot and characters of ‘Carry On Jatta’ and ‘Carry On Jatta 2’ are perfect examples of the same.

02/5Advocate Dhillon played by Jaswinder Bhalla

“Advcate Dhillon ne kala coat aiwien ni paya”, remember the dialogue? Jaswinder Bhalla as Advocate Dhillon was one of the most hilarious characters in ‘Carry On Jatta’ and ‘Carry On Jatta 2’. In the prequel, he was fooled by Jass (Gippy Grewal) who played his son, and in the sequel, he was again tricked by Jass who played his tenant. In the prequel, Jass gets married to a girl without telling Dhillon, and then makes him believe that his wife is actually not his partner but the better half of his best friend. Thereafter, in the sequel, Jass again gets married to a girl, but he tells Dhillon, that she is his son’s wife.

03/5Billu Bansal played by BN Sharma

In ‘Carry On Jatta 2’, Goldie played by Binnu Dhillon (friend of Jass and son of Advocate Dhillon) falls in love with Daljeet Bansal. The love story begins when Goldy takes the case of Daljeet’s father Billu Bansal to fight in court. Goldie intensionally drags the case for a long duration in court so that he could keep seeing Daljeet. In the whole scenario, poor Billu gets jail time for no good reason.

04/5Mahie and Meet played by Mahie Gill and Sonam Bajwa

In both the movies ‘Carry On Jatta’ and ‘Carry On Jatta 2’, the character Mahie, who played the love interest of Jass, was tricked from the very beginning. In the prequel, Jass had a family, and Mahie didn’t want to get married in a house with in-laws. Thus, Jass fooled her by saying he was an orphan. In the sequel, Jass was actually an orphan, but Mahie wanted to get married into a big family, therefore, he fooled her into believing that his landlord’s family is his own.

05/5Goldy Dhillon played by Binnu Dhillon
In ‘Carry On Jatta’, Jass married Mahie, but didn’t tell his family, including his elder brother Goldy Dhillon. Everyone assumed Mahie was the tenant’s wife. Now in the movie, Goldy always had a suspicion that his father Advocate Dhillon has feelings for Mahie, owing to the famous ‘stairs’ confusion. Till the end, Goldy was convinced that something was cooking between his father and Mahie.
